A WOMAN in her 70s is confirmed to have died in a crash on the A472 yesterday.
Gwent Police are appealing for information following the crash, which occurred at around 2.17pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, September 29).
The collision took place on the A472, at its junction with the A449 at Usk and involved two cars - a grey Seat Ibiza and a silver Suzuki Vitara.
A 73-year-old woman, a passenger travelling in the Seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 75-year-old man and a 45-year-woman were also travelling in the vehicle at the time and were taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The 78-year-old man who was driving the Suzuki sustained chest injuries and was also taken to hospital for treatment.
They all remain in hospital at this time.
The A472 and Monmouth Road in Usk were closed for more than eight hours while emergency services were in attendance.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen the vehicles before the collision occurred and any motorist who has dashcam footage in the area at that time.
