NEWPORT’S popular on-demand Fflecsi bus system has been taken off the road – after a fault has been found.
Newport Bus published a statement on their Facebook page saying that they – along with Transport for Wales – had found a fault during the manufacturing of the new fflecsi buses in Newport.
The statement said: “Safety is our number one priority so as a precaution we are taking all the vehicles off the road with immediate effect to check the fleer.
“We appreciate that people will be disappointed, and we apologise sincerely for any inconvenience, but passenger safety is our main priority.”

They advise customers to use the fixed bus routes where possible and have said they will bring the vehicles back as soon as the checks have been completed and the buses are safe.
A few of the buses have returned to the roads from 2pm, but Newport Bus advise that there may be less availability.
