DIRECT flights from Cardiff to Paris are set to return – it has this week been announced.
Yesterday, bosses at the Welsh airport revealed that in just a matter of weeks, a direct, twice weekly service will connect Cardiff Airport with the French capital.
The new route will be served by low cost airline Vueling.
Launching on Tuesday, November 2, there are set to be two flights a week – on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
It comes as Spanish airline Vueling was able to acquire new slots at Paris Orly.

As a result, the airline has launched 32 new routes – including the Cardiff to Paris flights.
To mark the launch, tickets are on sale at a special rates. For a limited time, some tickets are being sold for under £10.
While it is not the first time that a Cardiff to Paris connection has been in place, it returns after two years in the wilderness.
Previously, Flybe operated this route.
But, following this airline’s collapse, the route was abandoned, with no flights between the two capitals.
In recent months, a number of former Flybe routes have been restored, including routes to Belfast and Edinburgh, operated by Eastern Airways and Loganair respectively.
What’s more, at the end of October, Ryanair is launching a service to Dublin, which will run four times a week.

What have airport bosses said?
Bosses at Cardiff Airport have previously said that their priority has been to restore former Flybe services to the airport.
Spencer Birns, CEO at Cardiff Airport said: “We are delighted that Vueling has stepped in to provide a much-needed service to Paris from Cardiff Airport.
“The announcement will be welcome news for our customers wanting to travel to visit family, to explore one of the world’s greatest cities, and of course for large sporting events.
“Paris is also hugely popular with families wanting to visit Disneyland, and it is fantastic that this will once again be easily accessible for passengers.
“I’d like to thank Vueling for their continued confidence and partnership with Cardiff Airport, and we very much look forward to launching the route later this year.”
The new Paris route is the fourth operated by Vueling at Cardiff Airport.
It joins existing services to Palma de Mallorca, Malaga and Alicante.
