THE new chief executive of Gwent's health board has been revealed.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board deputy chief executive Glyn Jones, who is also executive director of finance and performance, will take on the role on a temporary basis, after it was announced Judith Paget has been appointed as chief executive of the NHS in Wales and director general for health and social services.
She will begin her new position on November 1, taking the reins from former ABUHB chief executive Dr Andrew Goodall.

Mr Jones began his career in the NHS in 1989 on the NHS Wales financial management training scheme. He has worked for most of his career in the NHS in Wales and the south-west England.
In the late 2000s he spent four years working for Jobcentre Plus, developing finance business partnering. He then returned to the NHS in 2010 as Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s assistant finance director.
A spokeswoman for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board said: “We are delighted to confirm that Glyn Jones, deputy chief executive and executive director of finance and performance has accepted the offer to undertake the role of CEO on a temporary basis whilst the process for a permanent appointment takes place.”
