THERE have been 10 covid-related deaths – including four in Gwent – reported in the latest Public Health Wales data.
Public Health Wales has reported 2,300 new cases of coronavirus in Wales (2,331 when including residents outside Wales) and 10 deaths since they last updated their statistics on Friday, October 1. The organisation no longer publishes figures on Saturdays.
Four of these deaths have occurred in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board which covers the Gwent region.
Throughout the pandemic there have been 1,031 covid deaths within the Gwent health-board with the Public Health Wales death toll – throughout the entire pandemic – now at 5,907.
Of the 2,300 newly reported cases within Wales 392 are in the Gwent region according to Public Health Wales.
There are 136 new cases in Caerphilly, 105 in Newport, 93 in Torfaen, 39 in Monmouthshire, and 19 in Blaenau Gwent.
New cases of the virus have been reported in all local authorities within Wales, according to this data, with Blaenau Gwent having the smallest increase in cases in Wales at 19, and Cardiff having the biggest increase with 339.
There are also 31 cases outside Wales.
