THE latest Covid-19 figures for Gwent have been released by Public Health Wales.

There have been 808 new cases of the virus in Gwent and 3,986 in total across Wales including residents outside of Wales.

Caerphilly has the most new cases in Gwent, with 292, while Monmouthshire has one of the lowest number of cases in all of Wales with 74.

Although Caerphilly has the most amount of cases in Gwent, Torfaen actually has more cases per 100,000 people.

Torfaen has 186.2 cases per 100,000 people, while Caerphilly has 161.3 cases per 100,000 people.

Both are higher than the national average, which is 124.4 per 100,000 people.

In fact, Torfaen has the highest number of cases per 100,000 people in Wales, with Caerphilly third behind Denbighshire (166.2).

The death toll for Gwent stands at 1,015 while for all of Wales it totals 5,924.
