The team at Reid Lifting in Chepstow is in line for a national award – in recognition of the way everyone within the business responded to the challenges of working during the pandemic.
The company, based on the Newhouse Farm Industrial Estate, produces portable lifting equipment which is shipped around the world for use in industries as diverse as oil and gas, construction and aviation.
When Covid-19 struck, the company had to restructure its factory to keep everyone safe and switch to new ways of remote working for the first time.
Now, the Lifting Equipment Engineer’s Association has recognised those efforts and has shortlisted the business for ‘Team of the Year’ at its annual awards event, which will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel on London’s Park Lane in November.
Reid’s marketing superstar Bailey Lewis has also been shortlisted for the LEEA’s Unsung Hero award for her individual contribution.
Simon Luke, the company’s managing director, said: “Here in Wales, we faced some of the toughest lockdown restrictions in the whole of the UK, yet the team spirit which has always been such a defining characteristic of Reid Lifting somehow triumphed even in the face of that adversity.”
