A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court.
SHANE THOMAS, 36, of Ringland Circle, Newport, was ordered to pay £179 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he was found guilty in his absence of soliciting another person for the purpose of obtaining their sexual services as a prostitute in a street or public place in Ruperra Street on August 13.
THOMAS HUISH-BLOUNT, 21, of Morgan Street, Blaenavon, was banned from driving for 23 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving with 95 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran, on September 5.
He was ordered to pay £319 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
JORDAN GUNTER, 23, of Queen’s Road, Elliots Town, New Tredegar, Caerphilly, was banned from driving for two years after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Ogmore Crescent, Newport, on April 15.
He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
ROBERT WAYNE JACK COLLINS, 20, of Lewis Street, Aberbargoed, Caerphilly, was conditionally discharged for six months after he pleaded guilty to the criminal damage of a window, public disorder and possession of cannabis on July 18.
He was ordered to pay £107 in costs and a surcharge.

JAREN LEWIS LLOYD, 29, of Lower Waun Street, Blaenavon, was ordered to pay £424 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without due care and attention on Park Avenue, Abergavenny on June 7.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
JOSEPHINE BALE, 27, of Newport Road, Trethomas, Caerphilly, was ordered to pay £220 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving while using a hand-held mobile telephone on Church Road, Bedwas, on March 7.
Her driving record was endorsed with six points.

LEANNE POULTNEY, 41, of Valley Road, Ebbw Vale, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after she failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
Her driving record was endorsed with six points.
NATHAN WATKINS, 48, of St Sannan Road, Pontllanfraith, was ordered to pay £574 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on The Rise, Pengam, on March 7.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
