A Newport entrepreneur has expanded his portfolio with the launch of Newport Vehicle Hire, a new independent venture offering people in Newport and surrounding areas an affordable solution to van rental needs.

Jon Collingbourne previously owned and operated the Newport branch of Practical Car and Van Rentals, a UK-wide franchise.

With his experience in the car and van rental industry, he has decided to open his own Newport-based vehicle hire company for local people - run by local people.

Jon said: “We have really enjoyed the time spent with the Practical Car and Van Rental franchise and the relationship we have built together over the years.

"The decision to launch the independent business stems from the desire to do things our own way. I had an itch and I wanted to scratch it. I have loved being a part of the industry and wanted to put my own spin on a van rental in making it a local business for local people."

Newport Vehicle Hire provides an affordable and practical solution for long-term or short-term transportation needs for both business and individual customers and offers a more flexible mode of transport than a man-with-van rental.

Newport Vehicle Hire works hand-in-hand with the Storage Group with its offices based in the 100,000 sq ft premises at Uskside Business Park on Usk Way, Newport.

The companies have a team of six dedicated workers who strive to meet the needs of every customer, offering an extensive range of vans, including small, medium and large vans as well as tipper trucks and Luton tail lifts.
