WELSH Marine Life Rescue has published a list of what to do and what not to do when sighting a seal on land in Wales.
If seals are disturbed on land, they may flee back into the water and have a tough times, especially in rough and stormy weather.
Welsh Marine Life Rescue said that people must remember:
- Keep your distance
- Don't put a seal back in the sea
- Keep your dog on a lead and quiet, at a distance
- Don't share the location on social media (it may attract a crowd)
- Report any seals in need or pups in public places at WMLR or BDMLR if elsewhere 01825 765546.
