A CITY centre bank branch has been forced to close due to coronavirus.
The NatWest branch in Newport's High Street is closed until tomorrow (Thursday) so that it can be deep-cleaned.
A 'coronavirus update' sign has been taped to the door, apologising to customers for the inconvenience.
NatWest confirmed to the South Wales Argus this evening that the Newport city centre branch was closed temporarily for deep-cleaning and "due to staff isolating".

The bank said deep-cleans may be used at branches when a member of staff tests positive for Covid-19.
NatWest said the "health and safety of our colleagues and customers is paramount".
"We will re-open the branch tomorrow and continue to make every effort to keep as many of our branches open as possible despite the challenges of COVID related absences," a spokesperson added. "In that time we continue to offer customers a range of alternative ways to bank including at the local post office, through our online and mobile app."
NatWest customers can also use the bank's online branch locator to find an alternative location, the firm said.
