A MAN has been arrested following a crash which saw a car end up embedded in a brick wall in Newport last night.
The incident occurred on Bishop Street in the Maindee area of the city - a road which is a dead end.
One car, a silver BMW, was involved in the crash which happened just before midnight last night.
Gwent Police have confirmed that a 20-year-old man from the Leeds area was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.

A Gwent Police spokesperson said:
“We received a report of a road traffic collision involving one car in Bishop Street, Newport at around 11.50pm on Wednesday 6 October.
“Officers attended and a 20-year-old man from the Leeds area was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101, quoting reference 2100351586, or send a direct message on Facebook or Twitter.
“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
