CARETAKER boss Wayne Hatswell admits that Newport County AFC are struggling to fit exciting loan stars Ollie Cooper and Finn Azaz into the same line-up.
The duo have caught the eye since heading to Rodney Parade, Azaz signing from Premier League Aston Villa and Cooper from Swansea in the Championship.
The pair provide County with guile and creativity in the final third but have only joined forces fleetingly.
Cooper started against Scunthorpe last weekend and scored the opener before suffering an ankle injury that led to Azaz coming on and impressing in the 3-0 win.
The Swansea prospect is fit for tomorrow's clash with Bradford, giving Hatswell and his management team a decision to make after the Villan’s lively cameo.
“Finn is very talented and I said to him that the level of performance he demonstrated against Scunthorpe was what I know he can do.
“I am seeing it in training daily now, which is a real bonus for the club because he is a very good player.”
Azaz has made three starts and four substitute appearances in League Two with County needing to balance his threat on the ball with work rate off it.
He started ahead of Cooper at Barrow and scored a goal but former boss Michael Flynn lamented the midfield's second-half display in defeat.
“The game got stretched against Scunthorpe and we saw how good he was. He has been on the bench and we’ve had discussions about where he fits in,” said Hatswell.
“It’s something that I need to think about because he is very similar to Ollie, who showed what he can do with the crucial first goal that gave us a platform.
“They are always looking to get in between any deep-lying midfielders and the back four or three. We’ve always tried to use that as a weapon to get our principles going of switching play and penetrating.
“We’ve got two good exciting prospects whenever they got on the ball, and any successful team needs that.
“With our shape at the moment possibly only one can play, but we have looked at playing with two 10s in games.”
County have no fresh injury concerns for the clash with the Bantams.
