THERE have been three new Covid-19 related deaths in Gwent – out of 23 in Wales.
This brings the total in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board region to 1,021 and the Wales-wide total to 5,965 according to Public Health Wales.
Out of the 5,705 newly recorded cases of the virus in Wales, 971 were recorded in Gwent. 296 of these were recorded in Caerphilly, the fifth highest in Wales. Newport recorded 230 new cases, Torfaen recorded 224, Monmouthshire recorded 131 and Blaenau Gwent 90.

Cardiff recorded the highest with 799.
