EMERGENCY crews were called to cliffs near Chepstow this morning to rescue a pair of stricken climbers.
Seven Area Rescue Association (SARA) crews from Beachley and Tewkesbury were called this morning to help South West Ambulance Service and Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service with the rescue.
Two fallen climbers required evacuation from Woodcroft Quarry which is a popular destination for climbers in the Wye Valley.
The area contains more than 300 recorded climbing routes.
A SARA spokesperson said: "Working seamlessly with the other emergency services present, a SARA casualty carer and team doctor were lowered to the casualties, who were on a ledge half way down the cliff face.
"One casualty was lowered down the cliff face, and the other raised to the cliff top, and both were delivered into the care of the ambulance service.
"We wish them both a speedy recovery."
