A very special baby, Matilda Marie Thomas, was born on April 11, 2021, at The Grange University Hospital, near Cwmbran, weighing 7lbs 7oz. Her parents are Kara Herridge and Adam Thomas, of St Dials, Cwmbran, and her big brother is James Thomas (six). Kara said: "I lost my father last year through the pandemic and he never got the chance to find out I was pregnant. After being told for six years I couldn't have children, two months after my dad had passed I found out I was pregnant. I ended up going a week over my due date and giving birth on my dad's birthday - April 11. Matilda is a very, very special little girl."

Archie Murgatroyd-Kent was delivered at home by his father on September 7, 2021. He weighed 6lb 3oz. His parents are Sarah and Jamie, of Newport, and his big sister is Ffion, aged 16 months. Jaime said: "We went into town for breakfast and my partner's waters broke. I then dropped my daughter home with her Nan, and took my partner to the Royal Gwent Hospital where she was told she was only 1cm dilated. We were told to go home, despite telling nurses that our first child came fast. By the time we got home, the baby's head was coming out! I rang the hospital who advised me what to do. Archie was born at 2.20pm and the midwives and paramedics arrived at 2.30pm."
