MANY roads in Gwent were affected by flooding as a result of heavy rain during the night and early morning.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said only one was closed, the road at Trecelyn Bridge in Newbridge.
Others affected were passable with care. There were reports of standing water slowing down traffic through Ynysddu, and police being called out to the A48 near Langstone.
There were also 50mph speed restrictions on the M4 near Newport this morning because of spray.
Flood watches were in force on the River Usk in Monmouthshire and Newport, the River Wye in Monmouthshire, and the Rivers Ebbw, Sirhowy and Lwyd.
