A ROUND-UP of recent cases heard at Newport Magistrates’ Court.
JOSHUA JAMES CURLEY, 29, of Monnow Way, Bettws, Newport, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Brynglas Road on March 1.
He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
DEXTER LEE DEACON, 27, of Richmond Road, Six Bells, Abertillery, was banned from driving for 12 months after he admitted drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on the A467 on January 9.
He was ordered to pay £199 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

LOGAN JAMES WELCH, 30, of St Woolos Road, Baneswell, Newport, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable on May 31.
He was ordered to complete a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and pay £360 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

IONUT-CRISTIAN LUCA, 36, of Commercial Road, Newport, was conditionally discharged for six months after he pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly on Commercial Street on August 21.
He was ordered to pay £107 in costs and a surcharge.
ANTHONY MARK BABER, 48, of Waun Road, Cwmbran, was banned from driving for 12 months after he pleaded guilty to drug driving with a cannabis derivative in his blood on Usk Road, Llangybi, Monmouthshire, on January 22.
He was ordered to pay £239 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.

MEGAN NEVILLE, 24, of Pritchard Terrace, Phillipstown, Caerphilly, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Greenfield Street, New Tredegar, on June 21.
Her driving record was endorsed with six points.
ALAN WILLIAMS, 81, of Pennant Street, Willowtown, Ebbw Vale, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
SHANNON BLAKE, 20, of Holmsview Close, Rumney, Cardiff, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance at Broad Street Common, Newport, on March 24.
Her driving record was endorsed with six points.
MARK BURGE, 58, of Tredegar Road, Willowtown, Ebbw Vale, was ordered to pay £204 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without due care and attention on College Road on March 22.
His driving record was endorsed with five points.
NICO CARROLL, 24, of Rowan Place, Rhymney, Caerphilly, was ordered to pay £349 in a fine, costs and a surcharge for driving without insurance on Groes-Faen Terrace, Bargoed, on March 21.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
GETHIN RICHARD HANCOCK, 35, of Tillery Street, Abertillery, was ordered to pay £816 in a fine, costs and a surcharge after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence.
His driving record was endorsed with six points.
