A SPEED camera in Pontypool was torched for the second time by vandals.
The camera on Limekiln Road, Abersychan, was badly damaged in an arson attack on Saturday.
A spokeswoman for the Mid and South Wales Safety Camera Partnership said it is not known whether the camera can be repaired or whether it will have to be replaced.
She said: "The camera was put these because of a history of accidents on the road.
"Without the camera there is the potential to endanger lives."
It is the second time the camera has been deliberately set on fire.
The previous incident took place in June 2006, and the camera had to be repaired at a cost of several hundred of pounds.
Anyone with information on the latest attack can call Gwent Police on 01633 838111.
