TORFAEN Council has teamed up with Gwent Police to inform residents how to stop anti-social behaviour from affecting their bins.

Hallowe'en is a time of year when all kinds of anti-social behaviour increases across the country.

In Blaenavon, police say they have noticed a quite frankly bizarre pattern of people using bins for anti-social purposes.

This year, the bins in Blaenavon are going to be collected on Monday, November 1 - one day after Hallowe'en.

To discourage people messing around with the bins, residents are being told to do one of two things.

They can either put the bins out onto the street as late as possible on Sunday night, or they can wake up at the crack of dawn to put them out early on Monday morning.

Gwent Police seem confident that this advice will curb the anti-social behaviour in the area, so much so that they said that all of Torfaen may benefit from following it.

That remains to be seen, but it seems obvious that simply keeping your bins on the street for the shortest amount of time means that people have less of an opportunity to mess around with them.
