Here is a round up of the public notices which have appeared in the South Wales Argus over the last week:

* The Welsh Government is to temporarily ban traffic from using junction 2 of the M48 at Newhouse, Chepstow. The reason for the closure if for work to take place. It is expected the order will run intermittently overnight between 7pm and 6am from November 11, 2021, to May 1, 2022. The closures will be signed accordingly.

Closures and alternative routes:

1. The closure will be from the length of the M48 westbound carriageway which extends from the nosing of the westbound exit slip road at Junction 2 (Newhouse Interchange) to the physical nosing of the westbound entry slip road at that junction.

The alternative routes for westbound traffic is to exit the carriageway at junction 2 and at the roundabout take the second exit to re-join the M48 westbound.

2. The length of the M48 eastbound carriageway which extends from the nosing of the eastbound exit slip road at junction 2 to the physical nosing of the eastbound entry slip road at that junction.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is to exit the carriageway at junction 2 and at the roundabout take the third exit to re-join the M48 eastbound.

3. The entire length of the M48 westbound exit slip road at junction 2.

The alternative route for westbound traffic wishing to exit the carriageway will be to continue westbound to junction 23 (Rogiet) and join the M4 westbound to junction 23A (Magor), there exit and return on the M4 and M48 eastbound to junction 2.

4. The entire length of the M48 westbound entry slip road at junction 2.

The alternative route for westbound traffic from junction 2 will be eastbound on the M48 to junction 1 (Aust) and re-join the M48 westbound.

5. The entire length of the M48 eastbound exit slip road at junction 2.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic wishing to exit the carriageway will be to continue eastbound to junction 1 and return westbound to exit the carriageway at junction 2.

6. The entire length of the M48 eastbound entry slip road at junction 2. The alternative route for eastbound traffic from junction 2 will be westbound on the M48 and M4 to junction 23A and then the M4 eastbound to junction 23 and re-join the M48 eastbound.

7. The length of the M48 eastbound carriageway from and including the eastbound entry slip road at junction 2 to a point 47 metres west of the mechanical joint located at the western end of the M48 Severn Bridge.

The alternative route for westbound traffic wishing to travel on the M48 to junction 1 sill follow the diversion route above to junction 23A, the return eastbound on the M4 using the Prince of Wales Bridge and re-join the M48 northbound to junction 1.

* Watkins and Gunn, Pontypool, are looking for anyone with a claim against or an interest in the estate of Rosemary Patricia Mundy (deceased), formerly of Hal 5 Ty Cae Nant, Cwmbran, who died on September 13, 2021.

* Newport City Council is to ban any vehicle from proceeding along B4239 Broad Street Common East and Westbound from its junction of St Peters Crescent to the entrance of Church Common at any time. The alternative route will be via B4239, Lamby Way, A4232, A48, Pencarn Way, Duffryn Way and return to B4239 and vice versa. The reason for making the order is to allow excavation for a new sewer main. The proposed order will be operative from November 8, 2021 and will continue in force for a period not exceeding 18 months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed. It is anticipated that the works will be completed in approximately eight weeks.

Safe pedestrian access will be available.

All vehicular access (including emergency vehicles) is via the diversion route.

* Newport City Council intends to dispose of three parcels of open space situated adjacent to Ringland Health Centre, Ringland, Newport, by way of a transfer. The disposal will allow the development of a new health facility.

* Tree Transport and Logistics Ltd, of RCCG Vineyard Chapel, Mountjoy Street, Newport, is applying for a goods vehicle operator's licence to use R J Masson, Albany Street, Newport, as an operating centre for five goods vehicles and five trailers.

* The Welsh Government is to impose temporary traffic restriction fo the A40 (Brecon Road, Monmouthshire, to the county boundary at Glangrwyney, Powys).

The order will be to temporarily:

Prohibit all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians from the road that extends from a point 20m west of the centre point of the access to Pyscodlyn Farm Caravan and Camping site to a point 200m east of the centre point of its junction with Glangrwyney Road. The closure is expected to operate intermittently between 8pm and 6am. Advanced notice of any changes to times and dates will be displayed before any rescheduled work.

Impose either a 40mph and 30mph speed limit on the length of the A40 as described above. The speed limit will operate at all times, day and night during the works period.

The order is expected to come into force at 8pm on October 25 and will be in force for a maximum of 18 months.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic from the western extent of the closure will be via the A40 north-westbound to Crickhowell, A4077 south-eastbound towards Govilon and eastbound A465 Heads of the Valley Road to re-join the A40 at Abergavenny. Vice versa for westbound traffic from the eastern extent of the closure.

The alternative route eastbound for vehicles with a weight limit over 7.5 tonnes from the western extend of the closure will be via the A40 north-westbound towards Brecon, A470 southbound towards Merthyr Tydfil, eastbound A465 Heads of the Valley Road and northbound A4143 to re-join the A40 west of Abergavenny. Vice versa for westbound vehicles over 7.5 tonnes from the eastern extent of the closure.

Local access will be available along the A40 Brecon Road eastbound and westbound but only up to the points of closure specified. Access to properties within the area of the road closure will be maintained at all times via escort through the works.

* Gerald Robert Piper, trading as GRP Light Haulage of 24 St Johns Road, Newport, is applying for a goods vehicle operator's licence to use Unit 4, Barleyfield Industrial Estate, Brynmawr, as an operating centre for one goods vehicle and no trailers.

* Rubin Lewis O'Brien, Cwmbran, is looking for anyone with a claim against or an interest in the estate of Albert Henry George Fisher (deceased), formerly of Ty Ceiros Nursing Home, Pontnewynydd, Pontypool; 233 Mill Heath, Bettws, Newport; and 13 Jerusalem Close, New Inn, Pontypool, who died on November 29, 2020.,
