Bollywood production being filmed in Vale of Glamorgan village

Aseq is described as a supernatural thriller which is based on a real life incident that happened in Mumbai.

It stars Vardhan Puri, Sonnalli Seygall, Siddhant Kapoor and is directed by Sarim Momim.

Rather than shooting in India though, production company Stone Circles Productions opted for the hamlet of East Aberthaw instead, and are using The Blue Anchor Inn as a location.

The thatched roof pub was originally established in 1380. A favourite with pirates and smugglers, the Blue Anchor used to welcome the local Welsh poet, antiquarian and forger, Iolo Morganwg, as a punter.

Aseq isn't the only movie to have been shot at the Blue Anchor either. In 2010, scenes from the Hollywood blockbuster Killer Elite starring Robert De Niro, Clive Owen and Jason Statham, were also shot there.

"We are so happy to be shooting here," producer Mohan Nadaar told the Argus' sister paper The National.

"We think Wales is so beautiful and in fact, this is the second production we've filmed in this area.

"The pandemic has made things difficult but we never stopped working. We're just so happy to be able to do what we do."

Earlier this year, Mr Nadaar and his fellow producer Vaishalli Paatil, shot the rom com Bobby Aur Rishi Ki in Cardiff as well. That and Aseq are due for release in 2022.
