A 19-YEAR-OLD from Newport, who helps to care for her disabled brother, has been shortlisted for an award by the national disability charity, Sense.
Rebecca Skinner, who supports Nathan, 11, by bathing, dressing and looking after him, has been shortlisted for the 2021 ‘Young Sibling of the Year’ Award at the annual Sense Awards.
Rebecca also uses her social media to advocate and raise awareness of disability and she is currently studying occupational therapy to support other disabled children when she is qualified.
Rebecca said: “I feel extremely shocked, and honoured to have been shortlisted for the 'Young Sibling Of the Year Award'.
"It means the world to me that it was my mum who put me forward and it brought tears to her eyes when we read I had been shortlisted.”
