HALLOWE’EN is nearly upon us and, in a bid to avoid anti-social behaviour, Gwent Police has implemented dispersal orders in Torfaen.

The order gives police the power to order groups to leave the area if their behaviour is likely to contribute to disorder or cause harassment, alarm, or distress to members of the public.

People who defy the order, returning to the area after being ordered away, can be arrested.

Gwent Police have implemented dispersal notices in Blaenavon and Upper Cwmbran, with both taking effect from 4pm on Saturday, October 20, until 3am on Monday, November 1.

“Police will be seizing items such as alcohol, eggs, scooters, speakers, and football or rugby balls.”

People can report anti-social behaviour to Gwent Police via their social media pages or by calling 101. In an emergency people should call 999.
