A DRINK driver was caught after he was arrested at a McDonald’s drive-thru.
Christopher John Davies was more than twice the limit at the chain’s branch at the Coldra Roundabout off the M4 in Newport on August 15.
The city’s magistrates’ court heard how the 34-year-old gave a reading of 168 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood after driving a BMW 520 car.

The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
Davies, of Sedbury Lane, Sedbury, Chepstow, was banned from driving for 17 months after he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
He was also ordered to pay £498 in a fine, costs and a surcharge.
