A MAN is facing a long prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to making a bomb – an improvised explosive device (IED).
Martin Johnson, 54, of Nether Court, Greenmeadow, Cwmbran, admitted making an explosive substance in Blaenavon.
At Cardiff Crown Court, the defendant’s barrister Owen Williams said his client had asked to be remanded in custody.
Judge David Wynn Morgan adjourned sentence until December 13 for the preparation of probation and psychiatric reports.
He told Johnson he would be given full credit for his guilty plea but warned him custody was inevitable.
The defendant was remanded in custody.
The prosecution was represented by Matthew Roberts.
