THE Dragons will play in shirts embellished with poppies and that feature the iconic Memorial Gates at Rodney Parade when they host Edinburgh at the end of the month.
Dean Ryan’s men will wear the kit in the United Rugby Championship on Saturday, November 27 in Newport.
The jersey features the Memorial Gates that were built in 1923 to pay tribute to the members of Newport Athletic Club who died during the First World War.
Eighty-six names feature on the bronze plaques on the gates and these names are part of the jersey.
The limited-edition adult kits are available for supporters to buy with £10 from every sale being donated to the Royal British Legion.
Dragons managing director Mark Jones said: “The Memorial Gates have always been an iconic feature of Rodney Parade, a permanent reminder of the sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the First World War, so it is fantastic to see them feature so prominently in the design.”
