SIX of Wales’ 10 newly recorded deaths relating to Covid-19 were recorded in the Gwent region.
This brings the total to 1,063 for the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board according to Public Health Wales.
The Wales total now stands at 6,177 according to the board.
Of the 2,210 newly recorded cases in Wales, 486 were recorded in the Gwent area. Caerphilly continues to record some of the highest cases, with the latest being 203, sitting them in second place for most cases behind Cardiff with 348.
113 new cases were recorded in Newport, 77 in Torfaen, 56 in Monmouthshire and 37 in Blaenau Gwent.
