A POPULAR Newport soft play facility is set to depart its city centre home.
R & N Inflatables has been a mainstay inside the Kingsway Shopping Centre for a number of years, though their stay at this site looks set to be coming to an end.
The store, which is a hit with families with young children, offers a chance for youngsters to let off some steam, with games, bouncy castles, and inflatable obstacle courses set up while parents run errands elsewhere in the shopping centre.
But, signs posted outside their unit at 33 Kingsway, revealed that Friday, November 5, will be their final day operating out of this space.
However, there is some hope that the departure from the city centre is but a temporary one.

According to the company, efforts are under way to find a new site – either in Newport, or the nearby Gwent area, to open up a similar facility.
In the meantime, anyone who has made a private booking will be contacted.
The company has confirmed that they are still continuing with their external bouncy castle and soft play hire.
When asked on social media why they were leaving Kingsway, a representative for R & N suggested that it comes as a result of the shopping centre finding a new tenant for the site.
Previously, the retail unit was home to Toy Town – a retailer specialising in entertainment and children’s toys.
While their signage remains in place, this shop has long since departed the city.

What has been said about the closure?
Confirming that they will be leaving the Kingsway, R & N said: “It is with regret to inform you our Kingsway Centre soft play will close Friday, November 5, and not reopen.
“We are trying to relocate locally.
“We'd like to thank Kingsway management and staff for having us the last few years we have enjoyed the centre very much.
“We are contacting party bookings after this date has passed.”
In a physical sign outside the unit, it is confirmed that efforts to find the new site are continuing.
This reads: “We will update our (social media) page when we have found a new unit.”
