A HUGELY popular food outlet in Newport – with one very specific menu item, has announced plans to move premises.
Holy Cheesus, a city centre establishment which has earned something of a cult following, has taken to social media to announce plans to move to a bigger premises.
Currently, the eaterie is based at 42c Bridge Street – a tiny retail space overlooking the approach to Newport Railway Station.
But it has been closed for some time due to the small size of the site and restrictions around the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, customers have been seen queuing along Bridge Street to order for takeaway.
Holy Cheesus is also available on food delivery service Just Eat in the city.

But now, the future of the brand could be radically different – and fans of the gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches won’t even need to go far to get their fix.
In a post on their social media page, Holy Cheesus confirmed that they are soon to be moving – “only across the road”.
While the exact location is not yet known, it is believed to mean Clytha Park Road.
Here, the current Rogue Fox Coffee House at 6 Clytha Park Road is soon to be empty – and could well serve as a larger establishment for the grilled cheese experts to occupy.
Though the former Meat restaurant is currently empty, it is soon set for a new lease of life – as Rogue Fox themselves recently announced expansion plans, and are soon set to move into these premises.
