REMEMBRANCE Sunday is nearly upon us, with the annual parades taking place across the country.
For Remembrance Sunday there will be parades in Newport and Caerleon, meaning that there will be temporary road closures between 7am and 1pm.
These are all the Newport and Caerleon roads which will be affected:
- The A4042 from Harlequin Roundabout to Old Green Roundabout
- Caerleon Road from Clarence Place to Church Road
- Chepstow Road junction of Clarence Place/Corporation Road to Cedar Road
- Clarence Place between the Old Green Roundabout to Caerleon Road
- Church Street in Caerleon
- Corporation Road junction of Chepstow Road to St Vincent Road
- East Usk Road junction of Caerleon Road to Tregare Street
- High Street, Caerleon, between Museum Street and Mill Street
- High Street, Newport
- Kingsway northbound slip road from Skinner Street to Old Green roundabout
- Museum Street, Caerleon
- Old Green roundabout
- St Johns Crescent between Tregwilym Road and St Johns Church
- Tregwilym Road between the library and St Johns Church
- Upper Dock Street from Skinner Street to Old Green Roundabout
Newport’s Parade, led by Newport Stedfast Band will leave High Street at 10.35am making its way to the Cenotaph at Clarence Place.
The service will take place at the Newport Cenotaph at 10.58am with the guns sounding at 11am to mark the start of the two-minute silence.
The Caerleon Remembrance service and parade will be from 10am on Sunday November 14.
