THIS CCTV footage shows a drink driver nearly crashing head-on into a police car seconds before he goes on to plough into a Newport cyclist.
Dominik Jablonicky was captured veering over the road as he crosses Newport Bridge into Clarence Place just prior to fatally injuring Matthew Brimble.
The film was used as part of prosecutor Gareth James’ case against the 27-year-old Jablonicky, who was jailed for six years yesterday.
Mr Brimble was catapulted nearly 60 metres through the air after being hit by the defendant who was driving an Audi A3 car.

The 37-year-old died in hospital just over an hour later from his devastating injuries.
The horrific footage of the collision was shown to a stunned Newport Crown Court.
Jablonicky, 27, of Locke Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
