THE caps fitted for Newport RFC centurions when they returned to their Rodney Parade stamping ground for a special presentation evening.
In recent seasons the Black and Ambers have presented players with caps when they hit 100 games, a new tradition that has superseded club blazers and badges.
Many former players asked if they could buy caps and an event was held in Newport to toast a number of past greats.
Oldest recipient Bryn Meredith gave a speech as did club president Brian ‘BJ’ Jones while current hooker Henry Palmer received his cap from the Covid-curtailed 2019/20 campaign.
Former players who have passed the 100-appearance milestone can buy a cap by contacting Black and Ambers director Kev Jarvis at commercial@newportrfc.co.uk.
