What the punters say: "Wetherspoons is Wetherspoons in terms of food and prices etc but its the staff at this one that make all the difference. Friendly, helpful, kind and well managed! I'm not keen on the political or ethical standing of the senior leaders of the corporation but I still like this pub and these people."

The Pontlottyn
Address: 14 Somerset Street, Abertillery, NP13 1DJ
Tripadvisor rating: 3.5/5
What the punters say: "Popped in for a quick lunch with my wife today, we had three small meal sharers, half rib and onion rings, spicy prawns and chicken wings. All three meals were served quickly and were excellent."
"The Pontlottyn is in a brilliant location in the centre of Abertillery and is easily accessed. It's a two-minute walk from the nearest bus station making it a favourite in many people’s books. The food is good for the price that you pay but can have its off days. The main reason I and many others attend this establishment is for a afternoon pint and catch up with friends or a Saturday night out."
The Sirhowy

Tripadvisor rating: 2.5/5
What the punters say: "I have had a few breakfasts from there recently and they have all been fantastic, great service, breakfast fantastic and the price is great, by far the best Wetherspoons in Gwent."
"Lovely venue to take children for a meal, friendly bar staff, waitress couldn't have been more helpful and cheerful. Food was good and came quickly, we both had steak and jacket potato, kids had pizza, and it's so reasonable, even had a drink included with the steak. We visit regularly and will continue to do so."
"Very good food and service, always a good crowd in but very spacious so never an issue really getting served and finding a table."
