THIS CCTV footage shows how an armed raider was stopped by a brave shopkeeper as he tried to rob him.
Daniel Murphy had a shock when Ponnampalam Premananth stood up to him at Premier Stores on Alexandra Road, Pill, Newport.
The 27-year-old defendant had pulled out a screwdriver as he tried to steal booze from the shop.

Mr Premananth came from around the counter and grabbed the bottle of alcohol from his grasp before he could leave with it.
Murphy, of Tone Close, Bettws, Newport, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was jailed for 27 months at Cardiff Crown Court.
