SHE was given a new lease of life eight years ago - now Lucy Augustus and her mother Vicky from Cwmbran want to show their appreciation.
At just two Lucy was saved by a liver transplant.
The youngster from Trannon Court, Thornhill was born with biliary atresia, which is a potentially fatal disorder meaning bile becomes trapped in the liver because bile ducts have not developed properly.
After undergoing the liver transplant in 1999 she has received treatment ever since and has recently been under going liver biopsies.
Mother-of-two Mrs Augustus, 30, said she was grateful to the support of the Children's Kidney Disease Foundation.
"We just wanted to put something back because Lucy has done so well - we're extremely grateful," she said.
Lucy and her mother are hoping they can raise as much as possible with a disco and charity auction on Friday March 7 at Fairwater Sports and Social Club in Cwmbran.
"We really need as many donations as possible and we need people to put their hands in their pockets on the night," she said.
Any kind of donations are welcome - household goods, hampers or toys particularly so.
The fun starts at 7pm
