THIS Harvester has just undergone a refurbishment and it's always delightful to go to a place that's so fresh and clean.
I went for the loaded nachos to start, smothered in guacamole, sour cream and tomato topping.
My partner's prawn cocktail starter, was also fairly "loaded" with a good helping of prawns in a tangy marie rose sauce served with two big slices of thick toast.
With grills a speciality, I opted for the "kicking chicken" - a half-chicken coated in spices and drizzling in garlic.
The after-kick was amazing as the flavours burst on your tongue.
The dish came with chips, peas and sweetcorn as did my partner's hickory chicken which was smothered in barbecue sauce and was, she said, equally delightful.
I can also recommend the honeycomb explosion desert, rich Devon ice cream layered with honeycomb bits and toffee sauce.
The meal came to £32.04 with a couple of drinks which is good value these days.
My tip is to ditch the starter and help yourself at the free salad bar, which is fresh and comes with a wide variety of quality seasonings and dressings.
