Six Villages - Brynawel, Cwmfelinfach, Wattsville, Wyllie, Ynysddu and Gelli Groes.
Are you celebrating your wedding, anniversary, exam results, or organising an event or a social evening. If so, why not give me a call. I would love to include it in my column.
Post Offices Closures: Last week the residents of Wyllie and Wattsville heard the news that their sub-post offices were on the list of proposed closures.
Regular customers at Wattsville Post Office are appalled at the proposals and say those without cars will have to travel by bus to Crosskeys or Cwmfelinfach on a half hourly service.
Some elderly customers can just about manage to get to the post office, but to attempt a bus journey would be too much for them.
This means they will have to rely on others, which will take away their independence - so much for being loyal post office customers.
Those opposing the cuts have a six-week consultation period to fight the closure.
Public Meeting: All residents in the valley are invited to a public meeting with your neighbourhood police team and representatives from the Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership at 6pm on Thursday, January 24, at the Cwmfelinfach Community Centre.
This meeting is to give everybody a chance to tell your local police team what are the problems in the area and what you would like to see done about them.
So, if you have opinions, don't keep them to yourself, come along and share them with others.
Pantomime Time: The Cwmfelinfach Residents Association had its annual bus trip to a pantomime recently.
They saw Stan Stennett in Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood at the Paget Rooms in Penarth.
Stan was absolutely brilliant, says organiser Shelagh Williams, he knew his audience and made several references to Cwmfelinfach and Ynysddu, as he knows the area very well.
The bus company Welcome Travel was excellent with a very good bus driver who was invited to the show by everyone on the bus.
Everyone had such a good time that when they heard Stan is appearing in St David's Hall on Wednesday, May 7, in a show about songs from the war, it was unanimously agreed that another trip must be arranged.
Watch this space for details.
Cwmfelinfach Residents Association: Coffee Morning The first coffee morning of the year was held recently and was very well attended.
It is always a very friendly gathering with coffee, tea, a chat and game of bingo.
For next month's coffee morning on Friday, February 15, the residents have been promised something new - we will just have to wait and see what this means.
Social Evening An evening not to be missed is on Friday, January 25, when the guest speaker is Brian Davies from Pontypridd Museum, who brings history to life in a most interesting and amusing way.
Car Club: The Subaru Car Club meets at the Ynysddu Hotel on the last Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm.
This is a locally-run family orientated club which was started a year ago by Subaru enthusiasts for people who want information on where to get the best parts and service and to exchange information.
You don't have to own a Subaru to join - if you are interested come along.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 29.
