Parts of Gwent have some of the highest Covid case rates in Wales.
MSOA (middle layer super output areas) data released by Public Health Wales has revealed that four areas in the region have a Covid case rate among the top ten per cent in the country.
Almost one per cent of people in Abertillery South & Llanhilleth tested positive for coronavirus in the seven days between December 2 and December 8.
During that seven-day period, 64 new Covid cases were recorded in the area, giving it a case rate of 910.9 cases per 100,000 people, the worst rate in Gwent.
Hengoed & Maesycwmer, Chepstow South and Chepstow North & Trellech, all also had some of the worst rates in Wales.

- Blaina and Nantyglo: 39 new cases; a rate of 411.0 per 100,000 people.
- Ebbw Vale North and Glyncoed: 53 new cases; a rate of 676.2 per 100,000 people.

- Tredegar and Georgetown: 22 new cases; a rate of 263.4 per 100,000 people.
