The Portskewett and Sudbrook Good Companions Club entertains approximately 50 elderly pensioners on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 2.30pm.
We have speakers, films, quizzes, bingo, a garden party in August, Spring Fayre and coffee mornings. We have just had a wonderful Christmas party, all enjoyed a lovely meal followed by entertainment by a duo from Cwmbran, Granville and Wendy, finishing with mince pies and sherry.
Local firms who helped make this possible were Corus Steel, Portskewett; Thompson & Thompson Car Sales; Jane Cowhen, Crown Hill Nursery; Portskewett Community Council; Wilkinsons, Chepstow; Mega Chem (Mitel Site) Women's Institute and Caldicot Chamber of Trade. To all we are extremely grateful. Without this help it would not be possible.
Our next meeting is January 24, our 44th anniversary, when we will enjoy another party and entertainment by the local U3A Choir. We welcome anyone over 60 to come and join us.
