A 53-YEAR-OLD man was rescued from a flat fire at The Gaer in the early hours of this morning.
Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire at a property in Gaer Road at 2.07am.
The cooking fire was extinguished as soon as crews arrived, and the man was sent to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Three water ladders and a hydraulic platform attended the incident, and firefighters left the scene just before 3am.
A spokesman for South Wales Fire And Rescue said the man did not suffer any other injuries and the flat was not badly damaged.
