A NEW set of walks for people wanting to improve their fitness and win prizes doing it are set to begin in April.
Health Challenge Newport's Going For Gold challenge encourages people to take part in more sporting and healthy activities including cycling, swimming and walking.
Every time you take part in one of the participating events you will earn points and with enough you will gain entry to a prize draw.
Prizes include sports equipment, gym membership, mountain bikes and holidays.
Throughout April there will be a series of walks where people can earn points.
They are due to take place on April 3 at Riverfront and Shaftesbury Park; April 7 at Newport Wetlands; April 10 at Glasswork Cottages; April 14 from Riverside to Glebelands; April 17 at Christchurch; April 21 at Cwmcarn Forest Drive; April 24 at Bettws Brook East and April 28 at Sirhowy Valley Walk and Fox Hill.
All wil start at 11.30am, except the April 21 walk, which is due to begin at 10.30am.
