A skate park planned for Abergavenny will take at least 16 weeks to complete.
Liz Hacket-Pain the cabinet member for leisure at Monmouthshire Council said that a date had not yet been set for work to begin on the project at Lower Meadow.
"From the experience of building other skateparks within the county it will take a minimum of 16 weeks, but there could obviously be unforeseen circumstances.
"It will not take as long to build the skatepark as it did for members to object to it at planning."
A soil impact survey and utilities checks have already been carried out. The council is now looking for the best method of procurement and is consulting with Abergavenny Town Council and various local organisations and members.
