ROGUE charity collections are being run in Gwent, police warn.
Leaflets have been delivered to homes in Gwent asking for clothing, shoes, towels, cosmetics, toiletries and perfumes to be placed in bags for collection the following day.
But police enquiries show some collectors are not sending the collected goods to charities and organisations as stated on the leaflets.
Police say national recognised charities running genuine collections could lose out if these scams continue.
If you receive a leaflet asking for items, read the information carefully and if you doubt the authenticity of the leaflet or its contents, call Consumer Direct on 08454 040506.
If you know anyone involved in this illegal activity, call Gwent Police on 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
