Seussical the Musical is based on the books of Dr Seuss that follows the story of Horton, the elephant.
Hearing a noise from a tiny speck of dust, Horton discovers the tiny new world of the Who's.
Unfortunately he's the only animal that can hear them and while he's defending himself the Who's are having their own problems to deal with.
During the performance the Cat in the Hat pops in and out of scenes, narrating and playing numerous characters while helping the members of the audience keep track of what's going on.
This excellent production has a vibrant set and the costumes were bright and colourful. Exactly how you would expect Seussical the Musical to look as if it had come to life from the pages of the books.
The whole cast did a marvellous job of portraying the weird and wonderful characters of Dr Seuss.
Taking on one of the main roles Joseph Tulloch tackled the character and outfit of Horton, the elephant, with ease and I really enjoyed Charlotte Woodroffe and Frances Rabbit as Gertrude and Mayzie. Little Elliot Cowes also did a wonderful job as Jojo the Who.
But it was Gareth Tempest was stole the show with his wonderful portrayal of the Cat in the Hat.
Seussical is playing in the Dolman Theatre, Newport until Sat 2nd Feb.
