Six Villages - Brynawel, Cwmfelinfach, Wattsville, Wyllie, Ynysddu and Gelli Groes.
Are you celebrating your wedding, anniversary, exam results, or organising an event or a social evening. If so, why not give me a call. I would love to include it in my column.
Nursing Home: The residents of Ynysddu Nursing Home enjoyed an evening of entertainment recently with guitarist and singer Rick, who entertained them with his 50's and 60's music and karaoke.
Rick has visited the home on previous occasions and the residents really know how to join in - they sometimes do not want to give him back the microphone.
Matron, Rose Parsons, says that there are lots of good things planned for the residents in the coming year, including a clothes party and trips to a garden centre and the sea side.
Change of Police Surgery times: There is a change of time to the ward officers' surgeries, which take place at the police station in Maindee Road Cwmfelinfach.
The surgeries will now be held monthly with the next one on Monday, March 3, from 5pm to 7pm.
7.5t Lorry Concerns: In response to residents complaints, our local ward officers PC Hwyel Walker and Police Community Support Officer Colin Davies carried out an operation last week targeting 7.5 tonne lorries, which are using the main road through our valley as a short cut from Newport through to Pontllanfraith.
We are all interested to see the data and figures from this operation, they will be given to us soon.
Distraction Burglaries: Please be careful when answering your door - make sure you know who you are opening it to.
There have been a lot of distraction burglaries in the valley recently.
These criminals work in twos, very often one knocks on your front door while the other goes around the back and enters your house through your unlocked back door.
Always keep your back door locked as well as your front door.
Car Club: The Subaru Car Club meet at the Ynysddu Hotel on the last Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm.
This is a locally-run, family-orientated club which was started a year ago by Subaru enthusiasts for people who want information on where to get the best parts and service and to exchange information.
You don't have to own a Subaru to join - if you are interested come along. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, February 26.
Kosovo: Local volunteer, Tina Williams of Cwmfelinfach personally delivers humanitarian aid to the eastern European country of Kosovo to help people affected by the 1999 Balkan war.
Tina said: "People tend to think the problems in this area have been addressed but the sad thing is they are in the same situation as they were at the end of the conflict."
This Easter, she will be travelling again to Kosovo.

Starring Stan and the Band of the Royal Air Force playing music from the war years Bless them All promises to be a trip down memory lane for some and a good afternoon entertainment.
A bus leaves from Cwmfelinfach at 11am, which will give everyone time to have lunch, or perhaps a bit of shopping, before the show.
