talk about charity work: On Wednesday, March 19, at 2pm, Margery Pryce-Jones, of Multi-International Aid, (Newport) will, once again, be in Sardis Chapel talking and showing slides to the Ladies Fellowship about her continuing work for Russian orphans.
These talks are always very interesting, and one is always amazed at the marvellous things Margery and her friends achieve in helping hundreds of poor children.
There will be refreshments and everyone is invited to join with us - and there will be opportunity to look around the newly renovated chapel.
And finally, a big congratulations to the Sardis children who took part in the Eisteddfod at Ebbw Vale.
They enjoyed themselves and achieved wonderful results - well done.
Holy Week Services: Sardis Sardis Chapel, Ynysddu will be holding its Maundy Thursday service, which will be conducted by the Reverend Peter Noble, moderator of the United Reformed Church (URC).
On Good Friday Sardis will be joining all the other local churches in the Good Friday March at 10.30am from Alexandra Road to Cwmfelinfach Community Church and everyone will be looking forward to a cup of tea and hot cross buns when they get there.
St Theo's On Maundy Thursday, St Theodore's Church, Cwmfelinfach will be celebrating Holy Eucharist at 7pm.
On Good Friday morning at 10.30am the congregation will join together with local churches for the march from Ynysddu to Cwmfelinfach.
Easter Sunday Service and Communion at 10.30am.
On Easter Sunday Evening the St Theo's joins with St Margaret's Church, Blackwood, to say goodbye to Vicar David Jones who leaves to take up a new appointment in Swansea.
Community Church Cwmfelinfach Community Church on Maindee Road will be welcoming all the local churches on Good Friday morning at the end of their March of Witness to meet and worship together in the Community Church. Refreshments will be on hand for the walkers.
Wyllie Pub The Reverend Ashley Hunt will be celebrating Easter at the Islwyn Inn on Tuesday, March 25, at 7pm.
There will be Easter songs and hymns, a quiz, an Easter bonnet parade and refreshments.

Brian has been ill but now has left hospital and is on the mend. We hope to see them both soon.
Bethal Bethal Chapel in Wattsville will be celebrating Easter with a service at 11am on Good Friday.
On Easter Sunday there will be the usual family service at 11am, followed by a balloon release and another family service at 6pm.
Women will also be encouraged to wear Easter bonnets to the services.
Siloh Siloh Chapel, in Gelli Groes will be celebrating Easter Sunday with a special breakfast at 10am and services at 11am and 6pm.
For those who enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat, why not go along to Siloh's coffee afternoons, which are resuming on Thursday, March 27, at 1.30pm, then continue fortnightly.
The children's club for ages seven to 11-years-old will resume on Wednesday, April 2, at 4pm and continues every week afterwards.
Mother's Union: The first Tuesday of every month the Mother's Union meets at 2pm in St Theodore's Church.
On Tuesday, April 1, PC Corinna Davies is giving a talk on bogus callers, showing a video and giving out leaflets.
Also, she can arrange visits by police officers to check homes are secure against bogus callers and also check smoke alarms.

Good Luck Ben: Good luck to Ben's Barbers Shop, which has opened on Maindee Road, in Cwmfelinfach.
Ben is a local boy who has worked in Cardiff, Newport and Cwmbran.
The shop will be open from Monday to Thursday between 9am and 5pm, Fridays 8am to 6pm and Saturdays 7am to 1pm.
Car Club: The Subaru Car Club meets at the Ynysddu Hotel on the last Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm.
This is a locally-run family orientated club which was started a year ago by Subaru enthusiasts for people who want information on where to get the best parts and service and to exchange information.
You don't have to own a Subaru to join - if you are interested come along. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 25.
