MEMBERS of Gwent Young People's Theatre will lead a celebration evening with a Noson Lawen at the Melville Theatre in the Drama Centre, Penypound, Abergavenny, tonight at 7.30pm.
Music - including the guitar and harp - poetry, sketches and comedy will be performed mainly in English with contributions by Welsh speakers who usually provide versions in both languages.
The concept of Noson Lawen goes back hundreds of years and this is an annual event in the Gwent Young People's Theatre calendar, helping to raise funds towards the six productions they stage every year.
Among the performers will be harpist Bethan Nia, poet Ric Hool, who will sing, poets Peter Davies, Christopher Meredith and Chris Hall and current members of the Gwent Young People's Theatre.
The evening is compered by former Gwent Theatre actor Mike Foulkes.
Tickets are £6 and £4, available from Abergavenny's Borough Theatre box office on 01873 850805.
