A MAN was killed last night after his car struck a tree in Newport.
The car was travelling along the A48 in Coedkernew at around 10.20pm when the crash occurred.
The black Ford Focus struck a tree and the only occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.
