STUDENTS from Coleg Gwent have been helping Lliswerry Primary School pupils do their bit for the environment.
Newport Welsh Baccalaureate students encouraged the children to think about the environment and what they can do to help protect it.
They have a teamed up with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds at Newport Wetlands to raise awareness of the new visitor centre.
Katie Prowse, 17, from Somerton said the course has been brilliant.
"We've had the opportunity to take part in things we wouldn't be able to do in the classroom.
"We've visited organic farms, worked with Lliswerry Primary School children and I've learnt lots of new skills."
The youngsters spent the day carrying out a wide range of activities on raising their environmental awareness.
